If you read the labels of your liquid lipstick, it may probably look like this:

There are many, many ingredients. Cosmetic ingredients that you cannot pronounce do not mean they are dangerous! They serve a purpose in the lipstick chemistry.

As a home-based cosmetic crafter, we cannot afford any of that! So, let's see how to make a simple vegan liquid lipstick in your own kitchen.

You are going to need 4 ingredients. What? Just 4??

Wax
Butters and/or Oils
Pigment
Flavor

That's all! It's that easy. Before I explain on their functions, just ensure the ingredients you choose are Vegan.

Also, remember to purchase some empty liquid lipstick bottles!

4 Ingredients to make vegan liquid lipstick

First, you are going to need some wax. You can choose any cosmetic wax that you like. This will make your lipstick thick and glides easily. The more wax, the harder it is your lipstick.

Next, you'll be needing some oils. You can choose any cosmetic butters and/or cosmetic oils that you love and those suitable for your skin type. This will make your lipstick liquid.

And don't forget your Vitamin E to prevent your lipstick from going rancid! Urgh! The more oils, the more liquid your lipstick becomes.

A lipstick without pigments is just a lip balm. Of course, you are going to need pigments. You can choose any color you like. For this formula, you have to choose the oil dispersible or oil soluble ones.

Using water-soluble pigments will be a complete failure as it will not dissolve or disperse.

Lastly, you will need to add flavoring oil. This will help make your lipstick taste so much better especially if you added butters in your formula.

Unrefined butters have high nutrients but can taste odd!

Follow the steps below to make a successful vegan liquid lipstick.

In a beaker, heat your wax and oils/butters.
Once everything has melted, turn off the heat.
Add your pigments and mix well.
Once the solution reaches before 40°C, add Vitamin E.
Mix well and transfer into the liquid lipstick bottle.
